Joe doesn’t really do subtle. So when he decides to show his sheltered grandson BJ what “real life” looks like, he packs him into a road trip and hits the highway like common sense is illegal. Madea’s brother Joe is the kind of guy who treats advice like a blunt instrument, and the movie keeps throwing them into increasingly awkward, chaotic situations as BJ gets closer to college. It’s not a heartwarming makeover montage. It’s more like watching a filterless uncle attempt mentorship with chaos, bad timing, and questionable decisions. The jokes land with that unapologetic, raunchy energy, and if you’re in the mood for comedy that’s less “growth” and more “keep the doors locked,” this one might actually work for you.

Joe könnte eigentlich jeden Tag im Garten sitzen und „Leben ist hart“ philosophieren. Stattdessen nimmt er seinen behüteten Enkel BJ mit auf einen Roadtrip Richtung College. Keine Sorge, das ist nicht die Art Ausflug, die mit Snacks und Dozenten endet. Madeas Bruder Joe meint es ernst und leider auch derbe: Auf dem Weg gibt es „echtes Leben“ im Schnelldurchlauf. Pannen, peinliche Begegnungen und jede Menge Momente, in denen man sich fragt, wer hier eigentlich wen erziehen soll. Der Humor ist direkt, laut und ziemlich unbeabsichtigt moralisch fragwürdig. Wer Filme mag, die sich nicht entschuldigen, sondern einfach weiterfahren, bekommt hier seinen Krachfahrplan.
